The Medium is an everyday carry kind of bag. Use it on your daily commute or as a briefcase to carry files and documents. Use it for school or for knitting or as a way to be both responsible and stylish at the farmers market. Recently, someone sent me a photo of her bag packed for a day at the beach on Block Island. These bags literally go anywhere, and everywhere they go, people notice.
This is not a flat-bottomed tote. That means that my totes do not have a WIDE, flat rectangular base. I have intentionally designed this tote to be flat when empty. I think this kind of design allows the piece to be as much handbag as beach bag - equal parts style and utility.
The fabric is an organic cotton, heavyweight canvas featuring a pattern that I designed from my own drawings. I have it printed in small batches and I only make enough to do a very limited run of each design. I really don't want you to sit down at the beach or be out to dinner and see someone else with the same bag. AWKWARD!
This bag is a size Medium. The bag measures 17" across and 15" top to bottom. The rope handles are set at an 11" drop which is long enough to be comfortable and accessible when worn over the choulder but not so long that the bag drags if an average height person carries it at his or her side.
Medium Tote - Purple Succulent on Stripe
1) I make drawings of the wildlife, history and lore that interests and inspires me as I live and work in Coastal New England
2) I create original patterns from my drawings
3) The patterns are sent to North Carolina to be made into varying weights and weaves of natural or organic cotton fabrics
4) The fabrics then return to Massachusetts and are handmade into neckties, cooking aprons, scarves and tote bags.
